After watching the incredible Wonder Woman film, I’m reminded of the super-hero-power in each of us. We each posses the power of kindness, compassion, perseverance, justice-waring, and long-suffering.

Wonder woman is our truest self.

When our fears, defensiveness, and criticisms are given permission to take a back seat (Brene Brown speaks a lot about this in her book, “The gifts of Imperfection“) we have the freedom to be our authentic selves.

Our world can be dark at times. With all that’s happening in the news, it’s natural to question all that is good when darkness casts it’s shadow. So what do we do when our doubt surpasses our hope for goodness?

Of course, I naturally resort to the words of Wonder Woman herself:

“It’s not about what people deserve. Its about what you believe, and I believe in love. Only love will truly save the world.”

I’m still knee-deep in exploring all that love can be. Frankly, I’m conflicted with my own heartaches and disappointing experiences. But in this season, the amazing lives around me and the trials of each day beckon for a reality shaped by whole-hearted living.

With marriage, friendship, difficult people, and love toward myself, believing love has the power to save the world is not easy to hold. Pessimism comes easy, but it takes our hero-self to believe love is greater than any darkness we endure.

If you are feeling the darkness, stand in the light of those who believe in great love. Hold the hands of those who love you and find strength from those who have persevered through similar circumstances.

Unlike Princess Diana, your never have to fight the good fight alone.
